UN supports vocational training of 453 youth in Tambura County

At least 453 youth have successfully completed technical and vocational education training (TVET) courses held in Tambura County of Western Equatoria State.

The three-months training was organized by Star Trust Organization (STO) in partnership with United Nations Mission in South Sudan and United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Steven Tangun, Executive Director of STO, said on Thursday that these youth acquired skills in catering, bakery, solar maintenance and installation, motorbike repair, solar maintenance and installation, and vegetable production and poultry.

Tangun said the training aims at promoting sustainable peace and creating a friendly environment for peace in Tambura County.

“Whenever young people come together to practice positive things it brings development, it’s now time for the youth of Tambura County to forget what happened in the past, work as brothers and sisters to attract more developmental activities in the County,” said Tangun during the graduation ceremony in Tambura County.

The beneficiaries of the program in Juba hailed Star Trust Organization for investing in young people.

The vocational skills will help these youth to earn income to sustain their wellbeing.
