SPLM launches membership registration in Jonglei state

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) under President Salva Kiir Mayardit has launched membership registration drive in Nyirol, Uror and Ayod Counties of Jonglei State.
Peter Lam both, the SPLM Secretary General said during the registration exercise on Saturday that SPLM party is mobilizing the citizens to rally for peace.
“The visit to the counties of Ayod, Uror and Nyirol is for peace and mobilization. The warm reception we received shows that SPLM will win 100 percent in the upcoming 2024 election,” Lam told journalists.
Lam said that the registration and mobilization by the party is being done in preparation for the 2024 elections.
He said that the launching of registration of members by the SPLM-in opposition led by Riek Machar in Warrap State demonstrates the presence of political space for all to mobilize.
Lam disclosed that they are on a mission to transverse all counties that were previously under the control of the SPLM-IO.
He also added that the visit by the SPLM delegation together with Jacob Akech Dengdit, the deputy governor for Jonglei state is the first since 2013.
