South Sudan encourages youth entrepreneurs to take up loans

The National Ministry of Youth and Sports is inviting the youth with business acumen and ideas to come for loan from Ministry concern.

Dr. Albino Bol, the Minister revealed on Wednesday that the Ministry has already secured 7 million Dollars from African Development Bank (AFDB) for the engagement.

“We have secured 7 million USD from African Development Bank (AFDB) and we invite youth to engage in the youth enterprise funds so that, they can come for loan and invest”, he said while giving a keynote address in Juba.

Dr. Dhieu pledged to invest the cash into youth entrepreneurial programs as well as setting up Vocational Training Centers in Collaboration with Ministry of Labour to create youth employment.

The Minister affirmed that the move would change the society by weeping out the poverty.

“This will definitely change the society and move away from the poverty. We are over 70 percent in population and there is no need we cannot transform our society into vibrant and productive one. We have a capacity to deliver and change our status quo”, he explianed.

James Hoth Mai, the Minister of Labour encouraged youth to work with National Governmental Organization (NGOs), adding that they should have been among 33,000 NGOs employees whereas only 30,000 are South Sudanese Nationals.

“Youth are to get employed with institutions like NGOs and even getting engaged in Vocational Training Centre which can create employment for them,” he said.

The two National Ministers made remarks in a three-day Introductory Workshop convened in Juba that, brought aboard ten states Ministers of Labour and NGOs representatives to review the recruitment guidelines and NGO Act 2016.
