Serves the Interest of the Nation – Kiir Tells Appointees

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged newly appointed government officials to dedicate
themselves to delivering essential services to the people and to promote peace, development,
good governance, and national unity across the country.
In a press statement seen by this outlet, President Kiir, while swearing in the new officials,
emphasized that they must live up to the responsibilities entrusted to them and serve the
interests of the nation above all else.
Those sworn in include Tut Gatluak Manime as Advisor on National Security Affairs, Africano
Mande Gedima as Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Barnaba Bak Chol as Minister of Finance
and Planning, and Moulana Athian Akec Ong’a as Head of the Legal Department.
President Kiir urged the appointees to prioritize the welfare of the people, uphold integrity in
public service, and work collectively to ensure lasting peace and stability in South Sudan.
The Head of State reiterated that his administration remains committed to strengthening public
institutions, fostering national unity, and addressing the economic challenges currently facing
the country.
