Scenius Hub secures $12,000 from Kush Bank to cover operation costs

Kush Bank approved 12,000 U.S dollars to Scenius Hub, a youth space that supports entrepreneurship to cover its operational costs.

The one-year partnership agreement was signed on Saturday by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kush Bank, Ryan O’Grady and Nelson Kwaje, Director of Scenius Hub in Juba.

Ryan O’Grady, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kush Bank said the contribution will assist Scenius Hub to continue its important work in the community.

“Kush Bank is going to make monthly contributions to help meet core operating expenses of Scenius,” O’ Grady said.

“Having places like this where people can come and gather and have a free discussion and exchange innovation concept and move ideas from concept to reality is essential here in South Sudan,” he added.

O’Grady said the partnership is a step toward the bank’s goal to bring financial inclusion to South Sudan.

“As a bank and it is part of financial inclusion strategy, we can help make this space where people can continue to come together and be thrilled,” he said.

Nelson Kwaje, Director of Scenius Hub said the contribution will help the hub to cover its operation cost.

“By partnering with organizations like Kush Bank we are able to cover our cost and also by so doing I mean hundreds if not thousands of people are able to access these resources,” Kwaje said.

“We basically subsidize access to opportunities and that is our main operation like the shelter we provide here and the events. The majority of these things come at zero cost,” he disclosed.

The Hub has a serene co-working space with Wi-Fi, power, and shared workstations. It also hosts a range of events on monthly basis attracting youth and community members.
