S. Sudan’s Defense Minister Briefs Forces Ahead Country’s Next Army Graduation
South Sudan Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs Angelina Teny has over the weekend attended a Catholic Church ceremony in Unity State and visited training centers ahead of the graduation of unified forces in Kaljaak and Mom training center.
“I have come mainly to attend the church ceremony and visit unified forces whose graduation will take place between Monday 10th to Friday 14th of this month,” she revealed.
Minister Teny while talking to reporters from Bentiu town State guest house disclosed that uniforms and other training materials for the trainees will arrive at the site in the nearest future.
She tagged her hope of peace in South Sudan, roadblock to cattle rustling as well as the end of communal violence which has been witnessed in some parts of the country on the security services of the forces who are on the verge of being graduated.
My three-day visit here will also enable me to observe the flood situation and report to President Salva Kiir Mayardit so that a timely and sustainable solutions to the flood is fabricated to diminish suffering of our people in the affected locations, she added.
Meanwhile, Unity state deputy Governor Tor Tunguar Kueiguong said the minister of defense and veteran affairs’s visit to the training centers was to give a head up to trainees about the forthcoming graduation as expectation of them bringing lasting peace in the country continue to sink deep in the minds of South Sudanese People.
“We are well prepared to graduate the unified forces only that they are waiting for uniforms and graduation team to arrive here” Tunguar told Juba Echo.
Just like minister Teny, Governor Tunguar also said the unified forces will eliminate rampant insecurity, revenge killing and will professionalize South Sudan’s army.
