S. Sudan starts clean-up ahead of Pope visit

The government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation have started clean-up ahead of Pope Francis visit as well calling on all the Diplomatic and Consular Missions, International and Regional organization working in the country to prepare for the coming of the pope.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan presents its compliments to all the Diplomatic & Consular Missions, International and Regional Organizations accredited to the Republic of South Sudan in Juba and has the honor to inform all the Heads and Charge ‘d’Affaires of the Missions that the visit of the Holy Father Pope Francis and the accompanying Delegation will be from the 2nd-5th February 2023,” the press statement read.

It’s the second time the Pope visit is made clear to the public despite first turn down due to the Pope’s depreciating health condition which forced his health teams to cancel his first visit.

The pope is expected to land in Juba from the 2nd-5th of February in Juba.

The minister of foreign Affair however stated that they will make it clear for the public of other programmes that will be associated with the coming of the pope.
