By Hou Akot Hou

Madhol Secondary School located in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State has received boost after well-wishers started contributing money to renovate it.

The school constructed in 2010 with money allocated from the Constituency Development Fund of area MPs in the national legislative assembly, had  been closed for learners after it’s roof was blown off by stormy wind.

Santino Bol Akot, the Director General for the State Ministry of Education, said on Thursday that the renovation of the only secondary school in Madhol payam will be undertaken byJak-Yar company.

“They are going to cover the parts blown off and fix other damaged areas to make it conducive for the learners. We have asked the teaching staff to relocate the students to other schools as renovation take place,” said Bol

The school renovation was kick started by Alexander Kuol Makuach, a youth who hails from the area through his Facebook post in November last year.

The Facebook post detailing the sorry state of the school compelled South Sudanese diaspora in Canada, Australia, United States and those in Juba to contribute money for it’s renovation.

One of the prominent businessmen from the area, Benjamin Bol Mel contributed last week 38 million SSP for the school renovation.
