President Salva Kiir Mayardit has on Monday afternoon departed Juba for Addis Ababa on a diplomatic mission.

While in Addis Ababa, the head of State is expected to meet top Ethiopian Government officials and also have talks with other heads of States who are currently in Adis-ababa for the ongoing high-level summits according to the press office of the president

In Feburay this year President Kiir went to hold discussions with senior Ethiopian government officials, including Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, focusing on enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as security, regional integration, and infrastructure development.

Peace and Regional Stability the visit comes at a politically sensitive time for South Sudan. Growing tensions at home—marked by stalled implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, mounting violence, and First Vice President Riek Machar’s house arrest—heighten the importance of regional dialogue and support.
