Police officer left with disfigured face while separating a brawl

A police officer in Norther Bahr el Ghazal State is nursing bruises after his face was hit by a brick while separating a brawl between two youth groups.
Makol Ajor said he was attempting to calm down youth who were engaged in fist fight at Madhol payam in Aweil East County.
“My colleagues who are policemen like me stormed the area in the evening to calm the youth. As I tried to separate the boys who were fighting, a boy threw a brick which hit my face,” Ajor told Juba Echo.
He was rushed to Malualkon hospital unconscious.
Ajor said the boys had engaged in bitter argument after a gambling game, which later on dragged in their parents and relatives.
He said the father of some of the boys identified as Agok joined his boys and started beating the other boys.
A woman identified as Abuong who came to calm the situation was also injured in the face but her condition is mild, Ajor said.
He said he had filed a case against the boys at Wanyjok police station.
