“We don’t want any person to move with a gun from today on wards, even if you are a soldier and police personnel keep your guns at your barracks, only deployed forces will move with their guns to protect the civilians and to keep law and order,” said Malith.
He assured the this year’s Christmas celebration will be the most peaceful in Unity state because they have deployed joint security forces across all the major urban areas in the state.
“We have imposed these strong measures to collect guns and light weapons, armed youths should not move with guns and anyone who will attempt to violate this order will be arrested and his or her gun confiscated, the only way is to keep guns at home and in the barracks,” said Malith.
