Pinnacle Security Company closes in Bentiu after locals’ riot over jobs

The Management of Pinnacle Security Company has shut down their office in Bentiu town of Unity State following disagreements with locals over job recruitment.

On Wednesday, locals complained over recruitment procedures demanding that the positions of guard supervisor and finance controller be ring fenced for them.

Pinnacle Security Company last week advertised vacancies and recruited some guards.

Mabany Biem, the Pinacle security company field officer in Bentiu, told Juba Echo that his office was closed by some company staffs who felt aggrieved over distribution of key job positions.

“We gave interviews and the company took the qualified staffs, but those who remain complained that they are the host community to take company positions. The company needs qualified staffs not because of they are from the host community,” Biem said.

He added that the matter has been forwarded to Joseph Nguen Monytuil, the governor of Unity State.

“We are not employing people because they are from the host community, we prioritize those who perform well because all of them are from the same state,” Biem said.

The director general of the state ministry of information, Kupal Keah said that the ministry is aware of the strike by the local community.

He added that they are handling the issue.
