N. Bahr El Ghazal Governor joins local efforts to clean Aweil town

The Governor of Northern Bahr El ghazal State on Thursday led his entire cabinet and law makers to clean Aweil town and surrounding environs.
Governor Tong Aken Ngor, said cleaning the environment helps resolve health hazards such as preventable sickness.
“Health is wealth as the saying goes. If you live in a tidy environment you are able to prevent diseases,” Ngor told journalists in Aweil town.
He said the cleaning campaign will be extended to all the counties in the state.
One of the residents in the Naivasha suburb of Aweil town, Abuk Garang said open defecation is common practice that poses health threat to the population in the town.
“Some people urinate and defecate anywhere, what the governor has showcased is essential for health,” said Abuk.
The state authorities already designated Tuesday every week for cleaning the town.
