Man stabs his brother to death in Aweil town

A 35 -year-old man has been detained by police after he stabbed his brother to death at Maduany area over a misunderstanding.

Capt. Guot Guot Akol, spokesperson of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State police, said on Monday that the suspect Tong Akol Tong, stabbed Akol Kuan Tong following a misunderstanding on Saturday,

 “Tong stabbed Akol Kuan on the chest, back and the hand. And he bled seriously till he passed on. This is something so weird and the suspect is being probed to find out why he did the act,” Guot said.

Guot urged people not to take the law into their hands, adding it is better to settle differences at established security mechanisms like the police.

This latest incident follows a similar one which happened in May, when a man in Aweil South County killed his own brother.
