The Governor of Eastern Equatoria State, Hon. Louis Lobong Lojore, on Monday inspected the State High Court residence in Torit and pledged to renovate the facility to provide a more conducive working and living environment for judicial staff.
During the visit, Governor Lobong commended the Judge of the High Court, Dr. Ladu Arminio Sekwat, and the Resident Judge of the Torit County Court, Mr. Joseph Ayik, for their patriotism and dedication in serving the nation under challenging conditions.
“I appreciate your commitment to upholding justice in this state. Your resilience and professionalism are admirable, and we will work to improve your working environment,” the Governor stated.
In response, the two judges expressed gratitude to the Governor for his visit and concern, reaffirming their commitment to serve the people of Eastern Equatoria State with integrity and dedication.
The visit comes shortly after the appointment of a new President of the High Court, following a routine transfer of the previous officeholder.
Notably, in May 2024, the High Court in Torit sentenced five men to death by hanging for their involvement in a robbery and the killing of a man—a landmark ruling that underscores the judiciary’s ongoing efforts to uphold law and order in the state
