Kapoeta Mayor calls for timely elections

The mayor of Kapoeta Municipal Council Lokuda Elia Lonyia says elections will promote accountability and transparency.

Mr. Elia was speaking in Kapoeta at the opening of a workshop for journalists and civil society organizations on civic space organized by UNMISS-Human Rights Division in Eastern Equatoria State.

The workshop is being facilitated by the Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) and South Sudan Human Rights Defenders Network.

Mr. Lokuda also cautioned journalists against dissemination unverified information.
