Juba City residents have been cautioned against frustrating efforts by authorities to restore order and sanity in the city.
Acting Mayor of Juba City Council, Solomon Pitia Sambur said efforts by the city council management to render basic services are being frustrated by a section of residents.
Sambur who is also the Deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance said some residents are already trying to derail the vision set and started by the former mayor Kalisto Lado Foustino.
“No one will be allowed to derail the national vision through littering, illegal erection of structures on public spaces, modification of existing structures without adherence to the laws.”Said Sambur
Sambur was speaking at a press conference on Saturday 20th Nov. 2021.
The changes, he said are aimed at “fostering the national and state vision to build q sustainable Juba city”.
Adding, “We have noted with concerns, attempts by a section of the Juba city population to reverse the gains made by the leadership of the country, state and the Juba city council. This is unacceptable and will not be allowed”.
The city boss said his administration will be focussing on managing traffic and transport.
other key areas of focus will be: waste management, climate risk management, inclusive economic growth, infrastructure development, delivery of services including health, education, maintenance of law and order, city planning and land use management.
