“The city authorities are working day and night to consolidate the issue of garbage but u fortunately the capacities of the equipment are very small,” Said Ladu
The mayor emphasised on the door-to-door collection of household garbage fee which he said will kick off soon to enable the maintenance of cleanliness and keeping the city clean.
“The cleanliness of the city should not only be left to the city council, the government. It should be the responsibility of all the people. The trucks are going to give massive cleaning to ensure that Juba is clean,” he said.
Director of City Light Service Company, Jalal Abdallah Doka said the project will work for the cleanliness of the city from the residents, work places and the streets.
“Garbage is being brought from residents, market and thrown to the streets. They government has designed places for the trucks to pick the garbage, so people must follow the guideline,” he stressed.
The streets of Juba have been a dumping places as trucks only pass by the road and collect garbage dumped by the road side from household rubbish and markets
