Four killed along Juba-Bor road in South Sudan

At least four people were killed and three others wounded along Juba-Bor road on Tuesday when suspected Mundari gun men from Terekeka County opened fire on passenger vehicles.

Samuel Ateny Pech, Commissioner of Bor County in Jonglei State said the incident occurred when commercial vehicles en-route to Juba came under attack near Mangalla payam.

 “The attackers are Mundari and the Commissioner of Terekeka County confirmed that these were Mundari who attacked the vehicles,” Ateny told The Dawn in an interview by phone.

Ateny disclosed that his counterpart in Terekeka County informed him that had sent his delegation to the scene, adding that the road was on Wednesday temporarily closed down for traffic in order to investigate the incident.

Warnyang Buyi, Terekeka County Commissioner said he has sent security organs to the crime scene to investigate the incident.

“I didn’t  go yesterday to Eastern bank side, I sent security coordinator and one of our military intelligence officer and CID to go and see the situation there,” Buyi said.
