A fire broke out early Wednesday at the headquarters of the Internal Security Bureau (ISB), commonly known as the “Blue House,” in Juba, damaging the bureau’s main administration building.

According to the National Security and Internal Security Bureau spokesperson, David John Kumuri, the fire started at around 12:15 a.m. in the building housing the ISB Administration Division.

Kumuri said all personnel were safely evacuated from the premises and no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was likely caused by an electrical fault. Authorities have launched a full investigation to establish the exact cause of the incident and assess the extent of the damage.

The Internal Security Bureau assured the public that its core operations and national security functions remain fully operational and were not affected by the fire.
