Fighting between Sudanese factions reported near border with South Sudan
The fighting between rival Sudan forces has extended near the border with South Sudan’s Unity State, according to a senior South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) commander.
Maj. Gen William Manyang Mayak said the fighting between Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (SAF) is taking place in Babanus area near the border with Unity state.
“Sudan Armed Forces are still in Elij Oil Company, they are not present in South Sudan land but as tension continue we may receive them at any time as they continue fighting in Babanus area,” said Mayak whoc commands the SSPDF Division Four in Unity state in an interview on Monday.
He added that they have deployed SSPDF forces at the border monitoring the situation.
