Chinese Cultural Festival Held in Juba

By Kidega Livingstone

Children from various primary schools in Juba took part in Chinese language lessons, traditional Chinese medicine demonstrations, and calligraphy sessions during the 3rd Chinese Cultural Festival and Film Screening held at the Chinese Embassy in Juba.

The event, held on January 8, 2026, aimed to promote cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and friendship between the people of South Sudan and China. Pupils were introduced to basic Chinese language skills and cultural practices as part of educational outreach programs supported by the embassy.

The festival attracted a diverse audience, including journalists, teachers, civil society representatives, and members of the local community. Participants described the event as an important platform for strengthening people-to-people relations and enhancing cultural cooperation between the two countries.

Organizers said the annual cultural festival reflects the growing partnership between China and South Sudan, particularly in the areas of education, culture, and community engagement.
