China roots for resilience in food production
By Tapeng Michael Ohure
A sustainable food production program has been launched in Chukudum, Budi County of Eastern Equatoria State.
The Chinese Embassy in South Sudan said the program is meant to alleviate unemployment among the youths.
“It is essential to empower youth to advance peace and development in the grassroots. We should always place peace at top priority, put the people at the center and forge a close partnership between government, people and the international community,” Ambassador Hua Ning stressed in his facebook post.
He thanked Governor Louis Lobong, Deputy Governor Mary Lodira, Commissioner Mboya Akileo, Ms.Caroline Waudu of UNMISS, and colleagues of local governments and CDSS for their thoughtful arrangement of my visit.
“It is my strong desire to see the export of local agricultural products to China in future. Chukudum will be producing several agricultural products, which will also be exported to China”.
