China donates medical supplies to South Sudan

The People’s Republic of China has on Wednesday donated assorted medical supplies to South Sudan’s Juba Teaching Hospital to help boost medical services in the hospital. The donations were received by the Director-General of Juba Teaching Hospital.

In her remarks during the event, South Sudan’s Minister of Health Dr Yolanda Agel said the medical supplies will improve medical services at Juba Teaching Hospital.

“These medical items will ease some pressure that Juba Teaching Hospital is experiencing given our population here in Juba,” Agel said.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, Hua Ning says China will continue to supply medical assortments to the Republic of South Sudan.

“We are going to provide more medical supplies to the people of South Sudan. This is a symbol of our cooperation with the people of South Sudan,” Ambassador Hua Ning said.

Also speaking during the reception of the medical supplies in Juba on Wednesday, the Director-General for Juba Teaching Hospital Dr Anthony Lupai hailed the Chinese people for their continuous support to the hospital.

“We thank the people of China for always supporting us. I hope these gifts are going to be of help to the people of South Sudan,” he said.

Ding Zhen, the Head of the Chinese medical team in South Sudan said,

“I want to congratulate the people of South Sudan for the medical supplies. We are working together at Juba Teaching Hospital, and we are sharing our skills together with the local staff and giving treatment to the people at the hospital,” he said.
