Bangladeshi Investors Explore Energy Investment Opportunities in South Sudan

A Bangladeshi investment delegation met with the Minister of Energy and Dams, Hon. Agok Makur, on Monday to discuss investment opportunities in South Sudan’s energy sector as part of efforts to strengthen economic cooperation and attract foreign investment.
The delegation, led by General Shamim Kamal, expressed strong interest in entering the South Sudanese market and investing in a range of energy projects.
During the meeting, officials from the Ministry of Energy and Dams presented potential investment opportunities, including renewable energy, electricity generation, and dam infrastructure development.
Minister Agok highlighted the government’s commitment to creating a favourable investment climate by providing the necessary support and incentives to foreign investors. He said the government is determined to ensure the successful implementation of projects that will help meet the country’s growing energy demand.
The discussions reflect South Sudan’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernise its energy sector, which the government considers a key driver of economic growth, industrialisation, and sustainable development.
