Aweil youth union of Northern Bahr El Ghazal state has suspended it’s chairperson, Tito Awen Bol on allegation of embezzling finances meant for the union.
The speaker of Aweil youth union, Santino Thiep Arou, said on Monday that the latter and his accomplices suspended from office for three months.
“The chairperson has been mismanaging the finances of the youth union. Secondly, he established a committee in Juba that does not contribute to developmental activities of the youth in the state,” Thiep told journalists in Aweil town.
The suspended chairperson is also accused of personalizing the official stamp of the union.
Thiep said prior to suspending Bol and his colleagues they were summoned by the youth union leadership to answer to the allegations leveled against them, but they did not turn up.
However, Bol when contacted by journalists denied receiving the letter suspending him and his other colleagues.
“I just saw the letter on social media and as a matter of fact it is not authentic since the letter went to social media, I will treat this as a rumor till I get the official letter,” he said.
Bol also accused the youth union of suspending him in absentia.
The youth union said Deng Bol Yai will work as the Acting chairperson until the differences with the suspended Bol are resolved.
