Advanced Team of the SPLM-IO Kit Gwang faction is in Juba.
The National Security Service’s Director for Public Relations/spokesperson David Kumuri says the team has come to Juba in preparation for the arrival of the SPLM-IO Kit Gwang Faction leader General Simon Gatwech Dual in the capital Juba.
The National Security Service or NSS says a new agreement was mediated by the Director of the Internal Security Bureau, General Akech Tong Aleu and that arrangement is what has led to the advance team of the armed group to travel to Juba
SPLM-IO Kit Gwang faction split from the group led by the first vice president Dr. Riek Machar in August 2021
It declared that it was on its own, it at that time disowned Dr. Riek Machar, there was a fight among the troops leading to loss of lots of lives in Kit Gwnag, Upper Nile State.
In 2022 after a deal was reached president Salva Kiir’s government, an order was made by the president for an immediate integration of the forces into the national army but that did not happen.
