Activist calls for implementation of recommendations for judicial reforms

The Deputy Chairperson for the South Sudan Civil Society Alliance, Dabek Mabior Arok, has called on the transitional government of national unity to immediately implement recommendations of the judicial reform committee aimed at reforming the judicial system.

“We call upon the revitalized transitional government of national unity to take and implement the report and the recommendations of the Judicial Reform Committee,” said Arok on Thursday in a statement issued in Juba.

Arok said the South Sudan Civil Society Alliance welcomes the recommendations of the judicial reform committee as significant steps in achieving peace across the country.

“We demand and call for the establishment of an independent, impartial, and credible Court of Justice and also developing and undertaking reforms of the judicial system and rule of law sector,” he said.

The Judicial Reform Committee chaired by Justice James Ogoola on Wednesday validated reports on judicial reforms in the judiciary and the rule of law sector.
