SSRA Joins Global Logistics Convention in Juba

The South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) has joined the seventh Global Logistics Convention in Juba, bringing together freight forwarders, businesses and logistics stakeholders to discuss ways to strengthen trade and economic integration in Africa.

SSRA Deputy Commissioner General Solomon Ariik Manyok represented the authority at the three-day convention, which runs from Aug. 25-27 at the Pyramid Hotel in Juba.

The convention is being held under the theme, “Transport and Logistics as a Catalyst for Africa’s Integrated and Sustainable Economic Growth.”

It was organized by the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association in partnership with the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations.

During the opening session, Manyok welcomed participants and commended the organizers and their partners for convening the event.

He also met with taxpayers, businesses, freight forwarders and other logistics stakeholders to hear about their experiences and gather feedback on how the SSRA can improve service delivery and facilitate trade.

Manyok is expected to deliver the SSRA’s official remarks at the convention on Aug. 26.

The convention provides a platform for stakeholders to discuss challenges affecting the transport and logistics sector and explore opportunities to improve cross-border trade and economic growth.
