South Sudan Officials Meet to Strengthen Coordination With UN Mission
Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister James Pitia Morgan and Defense and Veteran Affairs Minister Lt. Gen. Chol Thon Balok hosted a coordination meeting Tuesday with government institutions responsible for matters related to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, or UNMISS.
The meeting brought together relevant government institutions to exchange views on UNMISS operations and strengthen coordination among state agencies.
Officials also discussed ways to promote continued cooperation and constructive engagement between the South Sudanese government and UNMISS.
The meeting underscored the government’s focus on strengthening inter-institutional coordination on matters involving the U.N. mission and its operations in South Sudan.
