CES Health Minister Assesses Service Delivery at Wonduruba Primary Health Care Centre
Central Equatoria State Minister of Health Joyce Bakwa Agole has visited Wonduruba Administrative Payam to assess health service delivery and challenges facing the local health facility.
Minister Joyce was part of a high-level state government delegation led by Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony during the government’s ongoing community engagement tour.
During the visit, the minister inspected the Wonduruba Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) and received a briefing from the facility administration on challenges affecting the delivery of health services.
Facility officials cited shortages of essential medicines, inadequate beds and mattresses, limited human resources and other operational challenges as key constraints affecting service delivery.
Minister Joyce commended health workers for their continued commitment to serving the community despite the difficulties they face.
She urged the staff to continue carrying out their duties with dedication, professionalism and compassion toward patients and the wider community.
The minister acknowledged that shortages of essential medicines remain a challenge across the country, saying the Ministry of Health is working with relevant stakeholders and partners to improve the availability of medicines in health facilities.
She also called on the local community to support the health sector by identifying trained community health volunteers and submitting their names to the Ministry of Health for consideration and possible deployment.
According to the minister, strengthening the facility’s human resources would help reduce the workload on existing health workers and improve access to health services for residents.
Minister Joyce reaffirmed the Central Equatoria State Ministry of Health’s commitment to working with communities, health partners and local authorities to strengthen primary health care services across the state.
