South Sudan, IGAD Discuss Regional Cooperation and December Elections

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Amb. Dr. James Pitia Morgan, on Wednesday met with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Special Envoy to South Sudan, H.E. Ambassador Moussa Djama Ali, and his delegation to discuss regional developments and ongoing cooperation.
The meeting focused on political, economic, and security developments in the region, South Sudan’s planned December 2026 elections, and collaboration between the Government of South Sudan and IGAD on issues of shared interest.
Both Minister Morgan and Ambassador Djama underscored the importance of maintaining a strong partnership between South Sudan and IGAD to advance peace, stability, and regional cooperation for the benefit of the South Sudanese people.
