South Sudan Reaffirms Support for Somali Entrepreneurs at Somalia’s 66th Independence Anniversary

The Government of South Sudan has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Somalia and supporting Somali entrepreneurs whose investments continue to contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Speaking during the 66th Independence Day celebration of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Juba, Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programs, Hon. Adut Kiir, commended the Somali business community for its resilience and vital role in South Sudan’s economy.

“The contributions of Somali entrepreneurs to our economy cannot be overstated. We are committed to creating an environment that supports your endeavors, ensuring that you can thrive and contribute to the economic development of both our nations,” Hon. Kiir said.

She noted that the Government remains committed to fostering a business-friendly environment that encourages investment, promotes trade, and strengthens the longstanding partnership between South Sudan and Somalia.

The celebration brought together senior government officials, diplomats, members of the Somali community, development partners, and invited guests to commemorate Somalia’s 66th Independence Day while reaffirming the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
