N.Bahr El Ghazal students urged to apply for Ethiopian scholarships

Students in Northern Bahr El Ghazal state have been told to apply for university scholarships
being offered by the Ethiopian government.
Gabriel Ater Ather, director for quality assurance in the state ministry of general education and
instruction, said on Saturday that they have received scholarship forms from the national
ministry of general education and instruction for students who completed senior four.
He said the Ethiopian government has offered 120 opportunities for the students who will be
successful across the country.
Ater said students eligible to apply for the scholarships must have authentic senior four
certificates, passport and the national ID card and other academic certificate.
“You can come to the state ministry of general education and instruction and ask for the
department of quality assurance. You will get us here and be given the form to fill and go bring
the file where you will put all your documents and then file them,” he said.
In addition, he said those in poor health condition will not qualify for the scholarships.
Some students who spoke to Juba Echo said they are worried that they will be left out due to favoritism by those in charge of the scholarships.
