The leader of returnees in Rotriah camp located in Rubkona County of Unity state has accused health clinics operating in the area of employing unqualified staff, thus putting at risk the health of the population.
Jany Nyang Nyieth, told Juba Echo on Tuesday that about seven clinics have been accused of providing wrong diagnosis to malaria patients.
“This week health workers in about seven clinics injected malaria patients whose bodies developed wounds requiring operation, this shows that they are unprofessional health workers,” Nyieth said.
He disclosed they have filed complaint at the county health department.
“As a responsible leader in Rotriah returnees’ camp, I have ordered the closure of all seven clinics that have been implicated in this,” Nyieth said.
Jal Kuol Malow, Rubkona health director, said he has already dispatched a team of health professionals to investigate the implicated clinics.
“I have already sent our medical team to Rotriah returnees’ camp to carry out investigation, and if any health worker is found without professional license we will punish the owners of the health clinics,” Malow said.
In 2019, several health clinics were accused for operating without qualified health workers in Bentiu internally displaced persons camp.
