FVP Machar hails graduation of first batch of unified forces

First Vice President Riek Machar Teny  has hailed the graduation of the first batch of 52,000 forces calling for their immediate deployment to secure the country amid pockets of insecurity.

““This year, we are holding this forum when we have great milestones in the implementation of the peace agreement. The key one, we have graduated the forces in phase one,” Machar said during the opening of the sixth Governor’s Forum in Freedom Hall in Juba.

 The parties to the 2018 revitalized peace agreement are supposed to graduate in total 83,000 unified forces.

Machar said he was confident that security situation in the states and three administrative areas will be improved upon when these forces are deployed to stave off communal violence.

He disclosed that the second phase of the training of soldiers will commence as soon as possible.

He expressed confidence that the remaining critical tasks in the peace deal will be completed next year.
