NGO conducts peace training for 150 women in Bentiu IDP camp

Local NGO- Nonviolence peaceforce has commenced two-day training for about 150 women and youth on peace and reconciliation in Bentiu internally displaced persons camp in Unity state.

Gatkuoth Jiech Pathot, deputy team leader of Nonviolence peaceforce, said the training aims at achieving sustainable peace between stakeholders and community in Bentiu IDP camp.

“Our community peace conference is focused on issues affecting community, women and youths and to advocate for sustainable peace between stakeholders and community,” Jiech told Juba Echo in an interview in Bentiu IDP camp on Monday.

He added that the peace conference will also enable youths, women protection teams and stakeholders to understand sustainable peace and their roles in the community.

Kalany Bolis Kueth, Bentiu IDP camp youth leader urged protection partners and the state government to work to reduce the rising number of street children and also mitigate children deaths due to drowning.
