Orange corners, a renowned global non-profit organization based in the Netherlands on Wednesday announced the launch of its newest chapter in South Sudan.
Mohammad Shahin, the Managing Director for BizEx, the partner of Orange Corners said that they strategic objective is to empower youth to become successful entrepreneurs.
“This latest initiative, Orange Corners South Sudan marks a significant milestone in Orange Corners’ mission to empower young minds, drive economic growth, and create sustainable livelihoods worldwide,” Shahin said during the launching ceremony held in Juba.
“Although, the Netherlands Embassy is the core agency in implementing Orange Corners, a significant portion of the development budget is being given by BizEx as its social responsibility to give back to the community, “he disclosed.
Shahin said that the expansion of Orange Corners into South Sudan holds immense promise for the local youth population, adding that the initiative is offering access to vital resources, mentorship, and training to turn their business ideas into reality.
Fiona Chichi Loki, a young local entrepreneur and the founder of CICI Natural Skin Care, said that her business journey is marred with challenges, adding that the presence of Orange Corners will foster youth empowerment and economic development in the region.
Ebelien Zweers, the Advisor for Orange Corners said that the entrepreneurial development is the main inspiration for the Orange Corners in South Sudan.
“Entrepreneurship stems from inspiration to solve any specific problem. In a country like South Sudan where demographic dividend is high, young entrepreneurs are key to solve many of its social and economic problems. I believe the introduction of Orange Corners in South Sudan will act as the catalyst for developing the startup ecosystem,” she said,
