The Caretaker Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Lt. Gen. Charles Madut Akol, has appointed Gabriel Bol Dut as caretaker chairperson of the State Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) and Uliny Uliny Bol as deputy chairperson.The appointments were announced in Gubernatorial Decree No. 28/2026, signed by Madut on October 22, 2026.Under the decree, Bol Dut will serve as caretaker chairperson, while Uliny Uliny Bol will assume the position of caretaker deputy chairperson of the state commission.Madut said the decree was issued under the powers vested in his office by Republican Decree No. 243-09/2026, Order No. 33/2026 and Article 99(2)(a) of the Transitional Constitution of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, 2012, as amended.The decree states that it takes effect on the date of the governor’s signature.The Relief and Rehabilitation Commission is responsible for coordinating relief and rehabilitation efforts, including support for displaced people and other vulnerable communities.The appointments come as state authorities continue to oversee public institutions and humanitarian-related affairs in Northern Bahr el Ghazal.Photo Credit: NBGS Press.
