The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has been urged to set a revenue collection target of 100 billion South Sudanese Pounds by 2023 surpassing the SSP64.4 billion earned in 2021/22.
James Wani Igga, the Vice President for Economic Cluster made this call during the opening of the consultative meeting on the five-year strategic plan for the NRA in Juba on Wednesday.
It came after NRA collected SSP64.4 billion in non-oil revenue from July 2021 to April 2022.
“Let us try to set a target of SSP100 billion, these are not dollars but South Sudanese Pounds in non-oil revenue alone. This is what should be generated for non-oil revenue,” said Wani.
“The NRA and the Economic Cluster recently surpassed the target of SSP58 billion and without the economic cluster I strongly believe we would not have reached this target of 64 billion,” he added.
