First Batch of South Sudanese Workers Departs for Dubai

Gaani Study Abroad Consultancy, a South Sudanese-owned company, has officially dispatched the first batch of South Sudanese workers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), specifically to Dubai, from Kampala, Uganda. This marks a major step forward in the firm’s efforts to facilitate employment for South Sudanese youth.
The deployment follows an official send-off ceremony held on April 11 in Juba, attended by government stakeholders who reaffirmed their support for the initiative aimed at enhancing economic opportunities for South Sudanese citizens abroad.
Speaking about the departure of the first batch, Gaaniko David Daniel, CEO of Gaani Study Abroad Consultancy, expressed high hopes for the workers’ success.
“The first batch will be stationed in Dubai as bike riders,” Gaaniko stated. “We believe this is not just about employment; it’s about empowering our youth, enhancing their skills, and uplifting their families back home,” he said.
The first group comprises four candidates, with the second batch of six set to depart on Wednesday, April 16.
A third batch, which will be stationed in Abu Dhabi, is currently undergoing final preparations for deployment.
All selected candidates will begin their pre-employment training with their respective employers immediately upon arrival.
Gaaniko emphasized that Gaani Study Abroad Consultancy and relevant South Sudanese government stakeholders will maintain close supervision and monitoring to ensure the workers’ welfare.
“It is an honor for me to be part of this life-changing initiative,” said Dau Mading Akuch, one of the departing South Sudanese workers.
“Going to work in Dubai means I can support my family and build a better future. I am truly grateful to Gaani Study Abroad and everyone who made this opportunity possible,” he concluded.
