South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday sacked Awow Daniel Chuang as the minister of Finance and replaced him with Marial Deng Ring.
In a decree read on state-owned TV known as SSBC, president Kiir also dismissed NILEPET Managing Director Engineer Bernard Amour Makeny and brought in Engineer Mohamed Benjamin Lino.
Others affected by the changes are the undersecretary in the ministry of Petroleum, Engineer, Anyak Deng, he is replaced by Dr. Chol Deng Thon.
The undersecretary in the ministry of health, Ader Machar Achiek is relieved and replaced by Harriet Pasquale.
South Sudanese civil servants have gone for nine months without salaries. There is hyper inflation in the country but the outgoing finance Minister, Awow was only appointed to head the ministry in March this year.
Awow sets a new record as having served for the shortest time in the finance ministry.
