Gen: Burhan in Juba, Meets KIIR for Talks On Sudan’s Crisis

The Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan have arrived in Juba to discuss Sudan’s crisis with President Kiir, head of the delegation selected by IGAD to help mediate Sudan’s conflict.
General Burhan is accompanied by Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Ali al-Sadiq and General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufadel, head of the General Intelligence Authority, and other senior military officers.
The minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro said it’s of interest for South Sudan to find a solution to the in Sudan’s conflict citing the long history of the two countries.
Elia said President Kiir is capable to meditate the crisis in Sudan, and that he has a solution in his hands to resolve the conflict.
The Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Ali al-Sadiq said South Sudan being a country that separated from Sudan and well-versed about its politic s is the best to negotiate in the conflict.
Burhan’s trip to South Sudan comes after his last visit to Egypt to meet President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi in the Egyptian coastal city of El-Alamein for talks.
Fighting between Sudan’s army and the Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces broke out in mid April which has left the country in crisis, massive displacement and death.
