Several schools in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State are struggling to accommodate children displaced by the ongoing conflict in neighboring Sudan.
This forced the Governor of Northern Bahr El Gazal state, Tong Aken Ngor to meet officials in the state Ministry of Education on Monday to seek solutions on how to accommodate children of returnees and Sudanese refugees.
The State Minister of Education, Santino Bol Akok, said most of the schools lack enough classrooms, teachers and materials to accommodate returnee children.
Bol called on the national government and development partners to support schools to provide learning space for returnee children.
The meeting was attended by state ministers, advisors and county commissioners.
