South Sudanese urged to embrace popular yoga practice to improve health
The Central Equatoria State Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports, Rita Dominic has encouraged South Sudanese to practice Yoga in order to gain physical and mental health.
“Yoga is a precious gift of India to humanity, this holistic approach to life is beneficial for creating harmony among body, mind and soul, and we encourage all to adopt yoga for a balanced life,” Dominic said during celebration of the International Yoga Day in Juba.
The Indian embassy in Juba on Saturday organized the 9th International Day of Yoga, attracting hundreds of yoga enthusiasts.
Vishnu Kumar, the Indian Ambassador in South Sudan, said yoga postures enhance the flexibility of the body and provide relief from lifestyle diseases such as high blood pressure.
“Indian embassy has plan to organize more events related to yoga sessions in future, and we sought cooperation of all to propagate and promote yoga as a way of life for balanced and harmonious living,” Kumar said.
Millions of people all over the world have already adopted yoga as a way of life in order to improve their physical and mental health.
