“We are not just sitting but also evaluating options that can not endanger you where you are.,” Said Deng on Sunday

“The government has a plan to evaluate  the situation because we have over one million South Sudanese in Sudan,” he added.

He cited the UNHCR  report of 2017 which estimated that over 750,000 South Sudanese are in Sudan, they own property in that country and have since remained in that country.

He said the goverment is concern and will be working with other ministries, organisations to coordinate and give necessary support to those fleaing the country.

“What our government is doing is doing everything possible for us to be able to respond like the rest of the African countries are doing and other countries abroad,” he asssured.

He called on well wishers who would like to support through funds, transportation, food, clothes to contribute as those stuck in Sudan are in dire need.

“There is an urgent need as we speak. There are a few who are able to get out but majority may not afford to get out of Khartoum,” he added.

Deng assured of the president’s continous call for the warring parties to cease hostilities in Sudan.

“ From last Sunday till today, the President has continued to have a direct contact with both Bhurhan and Hemeti in an attempt to send a message of IGAD,” Deng saud adding that the president is in continous call for cessation of hostilities.
