Indian Embassy organizes Yoga session for Women
The Indian embassy on Friday organized a Yoga session at its premises for women from different walks of life ahead of the International Women Day.
“Women from different walks of life, including alumni of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation courses being conducted at reputed training institutes in India, participated at the session in large number. Trained yoga instructors conducted the yoga protocol, which included Yoga postures,” the Indian Embassy said in a statement.
It revealed that participants shared their experience of positivity and feelings, citing that millions of people all over the world have already adopted yoga and meditation as a way of life in order to improve their physical and mental health.
“Yoga postures are also known to improve the flexibility of the body, and provide relief from various lifestyle diseases and other ailments such as higher blood pressure, diabetes, as also back and joint aches that are caused by stiffness,” it said.
“Indian diplomatic Missions have since been organizing International Day of Yoga, and other Yoga sessions across the world to popularize the concept of yoga for its immense physical, mental and spiritual well-being,” it noted.
The United Nations declared June 21, as International Day of Yoga in December 2014 following the Government of India’s sustained efforts and global demand.
