Health ministry to crack down on counterfeit drugs in market
The Ministry of Health is gearing up to crack down on pharmacies and health facilities selling counterfeit drugs in the country.
This was revealed by Yolanda Awel Deng Juach, the National Minister for Health during the launch of the second round of COVID-19 vaccination campaign at Pyramid Hotel in Juba.
“I am urging the health providers in the nation to be alert, I am urging the public to be alert about the counterfeit drugs, the poor services that are being given locally in the communities,” said Awel.
She disclosed that her ministry will seek to verify the origin and expiry date of drugs in pharmacies and health centers.
“We are having people getting sick more from the drugs that they get, go for our public health facilities even if you have limited resources,” she said.
“We have got skilled doctors that will attend to you, please, I am urging again to be aware of the counterfeit drugs that are circulating in the community,” added Awel.
