Vox-pop for the coming of Pope

Residents in Juba city are giving mixed reaction as to the coming of the Pope. Some say it will be difficult for them to belief that the pope will come citing his previous cancellation and hos state of health.

Susan Michael Yani said she doubt the arrival of the Pope as she is aware that the health condition of the papal is uncertain.

“Unless he comes, I will not belief or even accept. He must be at the airport for me to accept because I know anything can happen anytime. He is sick and weak,” she said.

She called on South Sudanese to pray for the pope to make his holy journey and make it safe to South Sudan’s capital.

“We pray for his health especially that he may make it here so that we see changes. his visit means a lot to us,” she said.

While, Agnes James Juma said the visit of the pope has come when they needed it most.

“the coming of our holy father to juba is a huge blessing. We have been suffering a lot. We need blessing and the presence of God in our lives. South Sudanese have to accept God and live a good life,” she said.

She expressed excitement as the visit is a wish come true for South Sudan to experience peace.

Samuel Nhial Kuayir a trader at Gudele one market said the papal visit is an honor in the country citing the existence of the catholic church in the country.

Ï was baptized since 1988 and till date a very strong, committed catholic. It’s a pleasure for us to have the pope in the country to visit us here,” he said.

He added that the history visit will impact us positively as he will pray for the country.

He called on the people of South Sudan to co-existing with each other as they work for peace to exist in the country.
