Central Equatoria, Civil Society Network launched community sensitization and Civic Education compaign

Central Equatoria State Civil Society Network Community Sensitization and Civic Education campaign project Launched Under the theme; Building Stronger Communities through Civic Participation Towards a More Democratic Society; the event funded by UNMISS brought together civil society organizations, Youth, women, and other Non- Governmental organizations to so case ways on how the state government and citizens to find ways on how people can work together in peace and unity in the country.

The Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria state, Paulino Lokudu Obede, urged the people of Central Equatoria state to embark on Developmental activities that can unite the people but not to divide people.

Lokudu stresses that building stronger communities is through peace and social cohesion among different communities in the state.

He further urged civil society organizations, churches, and other partners to embark on civic awareness in the grassroots communities to have ideas on how they can address some challenges they are facing in their community levels.

The event was attended by government officials, youths, women, and different organizations fine away on how the community can address issues they can encounter in their daily activities in the state.

The CESCSN has realized that our Local Communities in Central Equatoria State, especially at the grassroots in the params of the six counties, have continued to Lack access to adequate and Reliable Information on Civic Education, political, and electoral processes, which undermines their effective participation and support to the level that becomes of paramount importance for us.”

However, without partnership and collaboration among the different actors in CES, it is difficult to cover the six counties of CES easily. It is from this background that together reach out easily and spread, and share Knowledge, Information, Experience, and Resources they need in pursuing this course.
